Brief Description

Welcome to the 1st Annual BFAST Kids Tri! This is a Swim, Bike & Run race for kids ages 6-13. (age as of 12/31/10) Race is limited to 300 participants. Sell out is expected.

Age Limit

Minimum age is 6 as of 12/31/2010. Maximum age is 13 as of 12/31/2010. Based on USAT Age calculation.

Course Route Description

Swim:Fletcher Pool-exit pool south to transition area. Bike:Start on 20th Ave.N., West on N.10th St., Continue south to 18th Ave.N., east to N.4th St., Make U-turn and return west on 18th Ave.N. to N.10th St., Right turn to 20th Ave.N. to 5th St., Left turn heading north to Fletcher Access Road. U-turn in front of pool & return to 5th St., Right on 5th St., right on 20th Ave.N., back to finish. 2 Mile Loop, Run:Around Fletcher Campus. 1/2 Mile Loop Jr's-each route once Sr's-each loop twice

Schedule

Packet Pickup - Saturday, August 14th
10am-4pm at Trek Bicycle Store located at 1313 Beach Blvd., Jax Beach.
This is the only time to pick up race packets
Race Day - Sunday, August 15th
5:30am - 6:30am - Equipment Set Up in Transition Area
6:30am - 6:50am - Mandatory Race Meeting for all Athletes, Chip Pickup and Body Markings
7:00am - Race Start (Juniors then Seniors)
9:00am - Awards begin upon completion of divisions

USAT Membership Requirement

This is a USAT Sanctioned Race. If you registered as a USAT member, you must bring proof of current USAT membership to packet pickup, either with a current USAT membership card, or a confirmation printout from USAT reflecting your ID # and Expiration Date.
If you registered as a Non-USAT Member, your annual Youth USAT Membership Fee is included in your entry fee and you and your parents will need to sign a Youth Annual USAT Application at packet pickup.

Race Packet Pickup

Athletes need to pick up packets at our host bike shop, Trek Bicycle Store, located at 1313 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, 32250 between 10am and 4pm. Parents must present photo ID. A wristband will be placed on each child's arm which will allow them to enter the transition area. Parents will be given a id strip from the running bib which will be required to pick up children at the finish line.

The Fun Stuff!

Each child will receive a great race t-shirt, an awesome goodie bag and a medal reflecting the name and year of the race. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd & 3rd place finishers for each age group and gender division.

Race Pictures

Athletes will be photographed at various times during the race by professional photographers. Pictures will be available for purchase online and an email will be sent to all participants with a link following the race.

Parking

Parking will be available in the Driver's Education parking lot at Fletcher High School which is located on 18th Ave. N on the School Campus property. Look for signs.

Equipment

Wetsuits are not allowed during swim. Approved CPSC bike helmets must be worn by all participants before, during and after the race while on bike.

Refund Policy

Absolutely No Refunds/No Rain Date/No Transfers 
Please consider your entry fee a contribution to our 501(c) (3) non-profit organization if the race is not held due to weather or you do not participate. The purpose of the competition is to encourage community physical fitness and to support the presentation of eight free concerts, educational outreach opportunities, and art exhibits to the community each year.
